November saw the highest daily average text messages of 59 million p2p texts in the UK said The Mobile Data Association (MDA).
The text messaging total for November 2003 stands at 1.7 billion, compared to 1.5 billion in November 2002 and 1.2 billion in November 2001. The figures were boosted by the huge increase in SMS traffic during the Rugby World Cup final on November 22nd, when 76 million messages were sent in one day.
The cumulative total for 2003 has reached 18.6 billion against an MDA forecast of 20 billion for 2003, with the busiest month still remaining.
