Dublin Bus timetables can now be accessed by SMS with new service called BUSTXT
Bronagh Rooney, Marketing Manager for Dublin Bus said, “we are continually looking at the demands and needs of our customers. With over 85% of the population having a mobile phone, the accessibility and ease of use they offer, it was a natural progression for us to use mobile phones to extend our customer servicesâ€.
She added that “We want to ensure that the journey from start to finish for customers is smooth and seamless – knowing when the bus you want is coming next is a significant step towards that.â€
Instructions to access BUSTXT timetables :
text the word BUS followed by the bus route number e.g. BUS10 to 53503 and send. Users then receive a response containing times for the next 3 buses in each direction. To pre-plan a journey e.g. BUS10 1800 for the times of the 10 route from 1800 onwards or include the owrd TOMORROW for the next day's service.
The service is provided by Irish company Imperium Teoranta.
