A new module from US business messaging supplier CellTrust offers Secure SMS delivery.

CellTrust Corporation has launched a patent-pending Secure SMS micro-client offering. An integral module of the CellTrust SMS Gateway Suite, the Secure SMS micro-client gives businesses the ability to confirm the delivery and receipt of text messages as well as other mobile content securely.

The Secure SMS Module manages and exchanges messages via CellTrust’s platform and infrastructure. It operates in conjunction with patent-pending micro-client technology that is automatically installed on the mobile handset.

Using the supplied API, the service can firstly confirm that the mobile device is able to receive secure SMS messages. Then the Secure SMS micro-client can be pushed to their customers’ mobile phones so they can receive and send secure text messages instantly.

As well as secure delivery, the system is also able to confirm not only that recipients have received their SMS messages but also when the message has been opened to be read.

The micro-client is offered free to CellTrust customers with the exception of additional charges when the Secure SMS confirmation or “receipt” feature has been selected.
