| Summary |
Are we about to face a "rising tide of mobile spam" or is the whole topic clouded by hype, confusion and an unfortunate association with email. We taste the many flavours of Spam and see how they should be treated.
Speakers will include Peter Norman from WIN and Gary Barter from Telesoft Technologies and Mike Grenville who will look at the many different flavours of SPAM. |

Peter Norman – Co-founder and Commercial Director of WIN
As a founding director of WIN in 1996, Peter is responsible for establishing the commercial relationships the company has with Network Operators and Content Providers, as well as driving the company’s product offerings. WIN is a provider of value added services to third party vendors. Peter was recently co-opted onto the board of the MDA and is on advisory panels for Handheld History and the Charity Youthnet. He continues to have an active interest in Politics although says that "everything I learned at University became redundant with the collapse of the Berlin Wall". He has trudged around a large portion of S America and Malaysia by foot.
Gary Barter has worked at Telesoft Technologies for over 9 years, working in all areas of the business from installation, support, design, development
and project management. He graduated from the University of Portsmouth in Electronic & Electrical Engineering and more recently gained an MBA from the University of Bournemouth, a Chartered engineer and a full member of the IEE. He has gained wide experience in many aspects of fixed and mobile communications and is now Product Manager for Telesoft's Mobile Products division. He is currently focusing on SMS products including SMS Service Centres, SMS initiated conferencing and mobile network monitoring and protection technologies.
